Philosophy
The Sexual Abuse Response Center provides counseling, education and support services to victim survivors of sexual assault the those children who are not involved in a criminal prosecution.
Assistance
If you are a victim and would like to receive counseling or emotional support services, call the 24-hour Crisis Hotline, 233-RAPE (7273).
Services
- Provide emotional support to all victims of sexual abuse/assault.
- Provide trained advocates to accompany rape victims in the hospital and remain with them through the examination, evidence collection, and statement to law enforcement.
- Provide short-term crisis intervention therapy for survivors of sexual abuse/assault.
- Provide support groups for survivors to assist in long-term recovery.
- Provide awareness education about rape/sexual abuse and its effects on victims, families and the community.
- Provide two outreach facilities: SARC Abbeville and SARC New Iberia.
